We sat down with our co-founder Alex to talk all things Sun Drift. From the pieces she’s loving most, to her perfect summer day, setting a table by the sea and the sleepwear she’ll be living in all season. Think salty swims, long lunches, sandy feet and absolutely nowhere else to be.

What bedding are you loving for summer?
The Lobster Fan Club Organic Cotton Voile Bedspread is such a fun one. The lightweight voile is perfect for those warm summer nights where you can kick your feet out when you get too hot. This print makes the bedroom feel like summer.
What does a perfect summer beach day look like with the kids?
Early start, straight to the beach, lots of swimming, snacks, sandy feet and absolutely no rush to leave. The kids are in and out of the water all day and there’s usually a serious amount of snacks involved! I love the Gelato kids’ swim for exactly that, it makes getting ready for the beach feel like part of the fun.
How do you bring a holiday feeling into your home?
I think it’s all about making your home feel like somewhere you actually want to spend time. I love pieces that can be used every day but still make the room feel special. Our Cherry Sundae Woven Beanbag and matching throw are exactly that.
What does the perfect summer table look like?
A big table outside, friends squeezed around it, something delicious in the middle and absolutely no matching required. The Costa Blue Tablecloth is made for that kind of summer long lunch. Add the Beach Combing ceramics, some flowers and a few good bottles of something cold and you’re sorted.
What’s your go-to when it’s time to wind down after the beach?
Something soft, comfortable and very much designed for staying in. I love an easy matching set that you can wear from bedtime into a lazy morning with a coffee. The Sweet Life sleepwear is exactly my kind of thing for summer.
If you could only pack one thing for a beach day, what would it be?
A towel, obviously! Although realistically I’m packing a very large beach bag with towels, swimmers, sunscreen, books, snacks and probably something I absolutely do not need.

What’s your approach to making kids’ bedrooms colourful and fun?
I love letting kids have a bit of freedom with their spaces. Their bedrooms should feel playful, colourful and like a little reflection of who they are. The Sweet Life bedding is such a happy one.
