Kip&Co x Jenny Kee: Reimagining Iconic 80s Knitwear for a New Era

At Kip&Co, we believe in celebrating the vibrancy of Australian art, design, and nature. That’s why we’re thrilled to unveil our second collaboration with the legendary Jenny Kee. A pioneer of Australian fashion, Jenny’s iconic knitwear from the 1980s has captured the essence of our country's landscape and wildlife for over five decades.

Now, we’re reimagining these timeless designs for a new generation, bringing them into the present while honouring Jenny's unforgettable vision.

A Fashion Visionary

Jenny Kee’s journey began in Bondi in 1947, but it was her time in London in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s that shaped her unique artistic voice. Her colorful, graphic Australiana wool jumpers became a cultural statement, blending bold designs with a deep love for Australian landscapes and wildlife. Jenny’s work quickly gained international attention, especially after Princess Diana wore her famous koala jumper in 1982, cementing her status as a global fashion icon.

From Flamingo Park to her contributions to the Sydney Olympics, Jenny has influenced generations of designers and artists. Her designs have graced the pages of Italian Vogue, been exhibited in top museums worldwide, and been part of a powerful environmental movement. Jenny’s passion for preserving nature is just as evident in her designs as her commitment to Australian identity.

Reimagining Iconic 80s Knitwear for a New Era

With our Kip&Co x Jenny Kee Collaboration, we’ve breathed new life into her iconic 80s knitwear, reinterpreting her bold, colourful designs in a way that feels fresh, fun, and ready for today’s world.

Inspired by the optimism and irreverence Jenny’s art has always embodied, we’ve updated her designs with our signature playful spirit, using luxurious fabrics like 100% Cotton Velvet Bedding to Apparel and Sleepwear. It's a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern-day comfort—designs that evoke joy and bring color to your life.

In addition to reimagining her knitwear, we've also put a new spin on the classic T-shirt. The ‘Earth First’ T-shirt features a reworked version of the iconic artwork Jenny created for the Wilderness Society in 1989, continuing her advocacy for environmental protection. It’s a nod to her dedication to preserving our planet, a cause that remains at the heart of her work.

Supporting Australia’s Wilderness: Giving Back

We believe in the power of design to make a difference. As part of our collaboration, we’re proud to donate $5 from every ‘Earth First’ T-shirt sold during the first week of launch to the Wilderness Society.

This donation supports the ongoing protection of Australia’s natural wonders, from its ancient forests to its precious wildlife. Jenny’s artwork has always been a call to action, and this initiative allows us to continue that legacy. Through this collaboration, we aim to not only celebrate Jenny Kee’s artistry but also make a meaningful contribution to the preservation of the landscapes that have inspired her work for over 50 years.

A Legacy of Colour, Culture, and Conservation

We hope this collaboration brings you as much peace, love, and happiness as it has brought us. We’re beyond excited to share these new pieces with you, and we’re honoured to partner with Jenny Kee to keep her iconic work alive for future generations. Here’s to the power of creativity, collaboration, and a shared love for the environment.
