Christmas with the Heppell's

The Christmas season is here, and we’re excited to bring delicious treats to your celebrations! Forget the complicated recipes, let’s keep things simple! Join the Heppell family for a no frills (but delicious) gingerbread recipe.

Grab your apron, roll up your sleeves, and get ready as we bake our way into a Christmas filled with good treats, and maybe a few too many gingerbread crumbs.

Ingredients

3 cups plain flour

1 tsp baking soda

2 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp ground cloves

Pinch of salt

3/4 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 egg

1/2 cup golden syrup

1 tsp vanilla extract

Method

Most would suggest that you mix the wet and dry ingredients separately and then combine but I rush everything!

1. Mix all ingredients together.

2. Chill dough.

3. Roll and cut out shapes.

4. Bake for 8-10ish minutes at 170-180 degrees until the edges are lightly golden.

5. Cool and decorate.

Voila! Ta da! Christmas fun tick! Simple.
