Byron Bay holds a special place in the collective Kip&Co heart. We've danced through this town in celebration of all life's big moments - from the giddy elation of schoolies, to meandering road trips in our 20s, to family celebrations and festivals in our 30s. Byron has grown up too - it is now an undeniable hotspot for shopping on the NSW coast, casting off its self imposed hemp-clothing-only policy in place for an eclectic, gypsy, relaxed aesthetic that makes us swoon.
Our favourite shop to hit up, not surprisingly, is our local Kip&Co stockist, Marr-Kett - bang smack in the coolest hood in town (Fletcher & Byron Streets). Founded by Richard and his partner a couple of years back (after meeting in the UK and discovering they'd lived on the same street twice), the store is a glimpse into their international roots and intrepid spirit - a snap shot from around the globe. They started with a couple of curated vintage Moroccan rugs but the space has quickly developed into a beautiful collection of "the stuff that we love; everything here is something we would want in our own home" - from homewares (hello Kip&Co!) to furniture, gifts, local artist pieces, a kids corner and one-off pieces
Richard and his family are doing the traditional expat orphan Christmas by the local lake but will otherwise have the doors flung wide open to welcome all the happy holiday shoppers. Merry Christmas all!! @marr_kett Shop 5a, 21-25 Fletcher Street, Byron Bay NSW 2481
