Our ethos

Closing the Loop

We’re part of the circular economy. Through our partnership with Upparel, we offer customers the opportunity to up-use, upsell and uplift the value of their old textiles, and through our partnership with Goonj in India, we donate 100% of our cotton offcuts straight to local community initiatives.

Australians discard about 23kg of textiles per person to landfill annually. That’s a zero-sum game that needs urgent intervention, and Kip&Co is proud to be part of the textile revolution. Through our partnership with Upparel, we offer customers the opportunity to up-use, upsell and uplift the value of their old textiles. Simply book a pick-up of your old textiles online, and you’ll receive a $25 Kip&Co voucher. The textiles will be either donated to charity, upcycled into something new, or recycled into things like insulation or stuffing.

We are incredibly proud of our long-term partnership with Indian charity, Goonj. Since 2019, we have been donating 100% of our cotton offcuts from our Indian supply chain to local community initiatives managed by Goonj. So by supporting Kip&Co, you're saving offcuts from landfill, and ensuring that they now have a meaningful impact in people's lives.

Goonj has been operating in India for over two decades, and re-uses and recycles urban surplus to address core community issues like water, sanitation, health, livelihood, and education. Kip&Co's cotton offcuts will be used to create cotton pads, providing a clean, essential solution that has saved women from infections, and a loss of dignity. Other fabric offcuts will be used to create products like backpacks and purses for the local community, with sales going back to Goonj to allow them to continue their amazing work.

In addition, we partner with a number of crisis accommodation shelters every season to provide much needed homewares and sleepwear to women and children fleeing domestic violence.
