Sunshine, salty skin and shoes-off living - welcome to Golden. Our first Spring Summer drop is pure Aussie summer, inspired by long days at the beach, backyard hangs and that magic golden hour glow.
Captured on Stradbroke Island, Golden is all about sunshine, freedom and that laid-back holiday feeling we all chase. We sat down with our co-founder Kate to talk about her perfect summer day, the prints she fell for during development, and the little rituals that make summer feel so special. From ocean dips with friends to long lunches in the sunshine, Kate is giving us the inside scoop on Golden.

Three words to describe the Golden collection?
Warm, optimistic, sugary sweet!

Which print or colour surprised you the most during development, and what’s the inspiration behind it?
After our Ponza Tartan sold out three times last year, we had to bring it back in a newer, more summery way. So Sorbet Tartan was born! It’s one of my faves for the season.

What are your top three Aussie holiday destinations?
I am biased and would say anywhere along the Great Ocean Road, Lovett Bay in Sydney, and of course Stradbroke Island.

What’s your must-have first purchase from Golden?
Definitely the Genie Terry Towel. I love an ocean dip every morning with my gorgeous friends, and this is a must-have in my bag. Soft, absorbent and made for slow mornings.

What bedding combo are you loving for summer?
My first bedding purchase was the Vista Linen Quilt Cover. This reversible beauty makes me feel like I’m on vacation somewhere by the water. I love clashing and layering prints and patterns, so it’s a must-have with all my other classic Kip prints.

If Golden was a soundtrack, what would be playing?
Something very Kip Summer, sunny and a little bit nostalgic. The kind of playlist you put on for a road trip to the beach and somehow everyone knows every song.

How did you come across Stradbroke Island, and why did you choose to shoot there?
We’ve been going to Straddie for years and it has this incredible ability to make you relax almost immediately.
You get off the ferry and everything slows down. It has all the things we kept coming back to when designing Golden: salty air, wild beaches, sandy tracks, eucalyptus and the most epic golden sunsets at the end of the day.
