Sweet Gigs

Between The Sheets with Lucinda Light

Join us Between the Sheets! Because the truth is, we’re all a little weird in the bedroom (no, not like that…). We’re talking about the good stuff — the real, unfiltered quirks that make us who we are. The doona hogging, midnight snacking, late-night Googling, and questionable PJ choices we’d never admit out loud.

We’re pulling back the doona with the luminous Lucinda Light. A familiar face on Aussie TV, she’s also an author, celebrant, speaker and all-round joy-bringer. Known for her warmth, humour and heart of gold, Lucinda is dedicated to helping people connect more deeply with themselves and each other. Big heart, big spirit, big energy — she’s letting us step inside her bedroom to share a few delightfully human truths usually kept tucked away.

Hi Lucinda, thank you for letting us peek inside your bedroom. For those who haven’t met you yet, can you share a little about who you are and what you do day-to-day?

Oh my golly gosh, it’s such a delight to be here and let you peek! I’m a bit of creative polymath, a TV personality, Author, Celebrant, Holistic Counsellor…

You’ve built such a beautiful career around love, connection, and light — what first drew you to this path?

It’s just evolved organically. I’ve been on a huge journey making peace with myself for years and love sharing that freedom with others.

If you had to sum up your personal “love philosophy” in one sentence, what would it be?

For me, love’s about embracing the magic and the mess- because we’re all beautifully human, just doing our best.

Do you practice any of your rituals (like breathwork, gratitude, affirmations) before bed? What’s your current mantra or affirmation that you keep coming back to?

I know the power of ritual and routine—but I’m a little too ADHD to stick to them rigidly. Every day is a new adventure. Instead, I scatter little anchors around me—sage, tarot cards, affirmation books, and always a journal or two.

Life on the road keeps me moving, so I lean on prompts and practices that spark inspiration wherever I land. Gratitude is a daily thread, woven through moments big and small. And my self-talk is pretty healthy. I cheer myself on with simple mantras: ‘Go Lu, you can do hard things. Love you, you’ve got this'.

Your book Shine Your Light is packed with juicy wisdom. If you could sneak just one page under everyone’s pillow tonight, which one would it be and why?

There’s so many juicy and essential bits in Shine your Light but the entry on forgiveness is one of my favs. Forgiveness is such a portal into liberation.

You spend a lot of time helping others connect — what’s one way you recharge and reconnect with yourself?

I recharge by hanging out with my loved ones, sharing earnestly and having a laugh. Another huge way for me is by immersing myself in nature- I’m particularly fond of the ocean. It’s such a reset every-time I jump in. Bliss.

Welcome to Between The Sheets, where the only rule is: there are no secrets between the sheets.

Describe your bed in three words

Colourful, luxurious and divine.

What is your bed-making shortcut?

Just to shut the door and lock it!

Socks in bed: yes, no, or “don’t ask, don’t tell”?

Sometimes when I’m cold YES but I usually peel them off with the other foot cause I like my feet to be free in the night.

What is the weirdest or best midnight snack you’ve had in bed?

A 35 year old from New Zealand.

What is the best excuse you’ve used to stay in bed longer?

Once I stayed in bed for 8 months with a collapsed back and a broken heart. It was devastating and also, the longest sleep in ever…

What is your sleeping superpower?

I was a tour leader for 7 years taking people on adventure holidays around the world. I learnt the art of sleeping anywhere.

Once I woke up with my head on the stranger next to me’s shoulder. He was surprisingly accommodating—like, really leaning into it. I shot up like, ‘Oh my god, how long have I been parked here? I’m so sorry!’ He just gave me this look like he’d been auditioning for the role of Human Pillow his whole life.
