Mirka’s son, William Mora (1953-2023), who so generously guided us through the collaboration, passed away last week. This collaboration is a tribute to his vision, passion and commitment to art - we thank him and his wife Anna for making this such a wonderful collection that is filled with the joie de vivre they shared with Mirka.

Mirka Mora is more than an incredible artist, she is a cultural icon. Born in Paris in 1928, she migrated to Melbourne in the 1950s. 1950s Melbourne was a sleepy town, and Mirka's magnetic and cosmopolitan sensibility fuelled a bohemian subculture that shaped the Melbourne we know and love today.
For over 70 years, Mirka was a prolific artist. Her art is a defiant celebration of the strength of humanity and love, a mythical world, over-flowing with joy, hope and resilience.
