Today we take you inside the charming Marion Bay cottage (@mysisterandthesea) owned by sisters Sarah Read and Emma Hall (aka @readandhall).
With a love of travel and keen eye for vintage treasures, every corner is filled with eclectic curiosities from all over the world.
In today's blog we find out what Sarah and Emma are coveting from the new Kip&Co range, plus talk all things interiors and planning the ultimate South Australian escape!
Your Airbnb is absolutely stunning! Can you tell us how the business (and your other side businesses!) came about?
We always thought it would be really fun to work together, but didn't really have any idea how this would come about, one of us was a solicitor and the other a social worker. We shared a holiday shack that we bought together when our kids were small and hadn't really thought of it as a business. We happen to have our astrological charts read one day and were told that we were as aligned and compatible as two people could be! Even though this makes no sense, this just confirmed for us that we should give something a go. We decided to uplevel our holiday shack, which is in the most beautiful remote location, and let our imaginations run wild and the result is something totally unique, whimsical and full of magic.
Our vintage business @readandhalltraders happened organically as we often get asked to source special things for others homes, and there's nothing we love more than a flea market.
How would you describe your interiors style?
Eclectic, rustic, vintage and unique treasures that we've collected from all over the world. Excess baggage is always worth it.
We are seriously planning an SA road trip. If you had one week, what’s on your hit list?
From the Fleurieu Peninsula with its incredible food, wine and views through the city of Adelaide, festivals, parklands, incredible restaurants and cafes along the Yorke Peninsula to My Sister & The Sea at Marion Bay, a tiny town on the toe of the foot which all South Australians know about as a hidden gem.
Outside of SA, what’s on your wish list in Australia?
We haven't been to Tassie for a long time, and so much has changed since then, we have to go and stay at Captain's Rest, right?!
